If you happen to be driving on the streets of Maryland, you may encounter a strange sight - A Cessna aircraft riding along the road right beside you. However, this is not an airplane having engine trouble, but a cool road-legal hybrid car put together by Jeff Bloch AKA Speedy Cop!

The amateur mechanic and Washington D.C. policeman built the fun Spirit of Le Mons car to compete in the 24 Hours of LeMons, an endurance race for secondhand cars. Except in his case it was a 1956 Cessna 310 that had been transformed into a racing car with some help from an old Toyota van.

After winning the race in March 2013, he decided to make it street-legal by adding head lights, brake lights and indicators and use it as his fun 'sports' car! Not surprisingly, Spirit of Le Mons turns heads wherever it goes, so much so, that the policeman is concerned it will result in a crash because most people seem to stop paying attention to their own driving, when they see it. The good news for those of us that do not live in Maryland is that Jeff is soon planning to take his cool car on a road trip, across the USA!
