I truly amazingly written book with powerful emotion. Every chapter is an exciting new scene and every chapter has a cliff-hanger at the end. Katniss is a fierce and determined young girl, yet shy and unprepared for what awaits. Along with Prim, Katniss' mother, Gale, Peeta, Effie, Haymitch and other characters, I couldn't see any other way without these characters. If you want to read a book trilogy with action, dystopia, thrills, and emotional parts, THIS BOOK AND BOOK TRILOGY IS FOR YOU. Have fun! :D
Amazingly written but a little too innapropriate for kids ages up to 11. There is sexual content and use of bad words. On the other hand, amazingly written as I said before and what a tween/teen would love to read. I was on my edge of my seat, reading ever last word and my heart melted with it's amazing love story. The movie was also great too! Recommend this book greatly and prepare for strong tears in the movie.
Really don't understand how this book is at the reading level considered for 3rd to 5th graders. This is certainly a very good book with over 300 pages and some parts are very hard to understand since it is in the main characters point of view and not in 3rd person. Some parts can be confusing for smaller children to comprehend and the way the author explains stuff is so detailed and may be hard to some to understand. Anyways, great book if you've read "The Maze Runner" or "Divergent." Planning on reading the next book and the movie was great!
This book is really good, if slightly excessive in violence. I am fine with violence in general, but for my liking this book was slightly too much gore, despite it having an incredible storyline. It is a very good book, and I cannot fault it technically, but Dashner has made this book, in my opinion, for teenagers due to excessive violence, even though if it had less gore, tweens could happily read it.
