This is, hands down, my favorite Heroes of Olympus book. I enjoyed it more than any other book in the series. I didn't like the Tartarus chapters as much as the chapters of the other seven, but this was still a great book. I specially loved the scenes where Nico appears, since we get to understand him better, and what he went through. I was really sad when I got to the ending, especially because of two characters that I started to love. This book also teaches us that just because you are supposed to be one way, you don't have to change to become what other people see you as.Almost 9 years agofany13 added a book review.
Third book in the Heroes of Olympus series, and the Greeks and the Romans are finally introduced to each other. After months of being apart, Percy and Annabeth finally reunite, along with the other five demigods of the Second Great Prophecy. I liked how the interaction went. Stories were swapped, and questions answered. I enjoyed most of the book, but there was one part that I wasn't big fan of, and that is the Percy-Annabeth interaction. They've been separated for months, and at beginning of the Lost Hero, Annabeth clearly wasn't alright, but now that Percy's back, she basically ignores him. That's the only big problem that I had with this book, but I still love the series.Almost 9 years agofany13 added a book review.
When I saw that Percy was in this book, I was ecstatic. I had to borrow the book from a friend because I couldn't wait to buy it. This book takes place a few months after the events of the Lost Hero. Here, we are introduced to a Percy with amnesia, and a few demigods that are key to the events of later books. I overall enjoyed this installment, but was frustrated at the same time, because there were many things the main characters did not know, that I did. They had questions I had the answer to. The didn't know about key events that had happened in the previous book. I guess this was the author's intention, to get us hooked to the book, and to keep reading to see if the characters found the answers they needed. This book promises a lot, ad the promise is fulfilled in later books.Almost 9 years agofany13's book review was featured in The Lost Hero.
This first book in the Heroes of Olympus series focuses on three demigods: Jason is the main character. He has amnesia and doesn't remember anything from his past. Piper, whose father has been kidnapped, and Leo, who sees the ghost of his first babysitter and has a power that is considered a curse. When they arrive at Camp Half-Blood, they are given a quest: rescue the queen of Olympus from a giant. While on the quest they have to face many challenges, such as gods, cyclopes, and resurrected characters from Greek mythology. I have to admit that at first I wasn't planning on reading this series, just because Percy wasn't on this book, but I'm now glad I did. This book is different from the PJO series, primarily because it has multiple points of view. This wasn't an issue. I enjoyed being in the mind of the three demigods and see through their eyes. Even though this is intended for an audience older than PJO, fans of Percy's adventures can still enjoy this book series.Almost 9 years agofany13 added a book review.
