I just saw the official Artemis Fowl movie trailer and am sorry to say it seems like it is going to be another "Percy Jackson movie fail". For one thing, it shows Artemis surfing and sparring (and we all know he is not coordinated nor physically adept), plus he actually works with Holly and Mulch from the very beginning! No fairy-napping for gold and no time stop involved. It also dives right into the second book, Artemis saving his father, with no mention of Artemis's mother. :(
