I love realistic fiction, it makes me feel like it REALLY could happen. The author Jean adds great nonfiction details, so you really believe that Sam could survive on his own. I like that Sam gets help from the town librarian and from the old man. It makes sense that if you had help, and knowledge, you could survive in the wild.
