Artemis has enough money for the ransom, but Artemis's bodyguard Butler knows that the Mafia will kill them all, even if they give it. Artemis Fowl knows he will need the fairies' help to rescue his father. But the fairies also need Artemis and Butler's help. A human has been giving lithium batteries to the B'ua Kell Goblin Triad, a major smuggling organization, for them to use to charge their Softnose Lasers. With these weapons, the goblins are becoming extremely dangerous. And worse, the fairies suspect that someone on the inside is helping the B'ua Kell. Who could it be? Will Artemis and the fairies be able to stop the goblins? And can they rescue Artemis's father? I liked this book because it was full of adventure. I recommend this book to people who like fantasy and science fiction.
