A New York Times-Bestseller!

For twelve-year-old Emily, the best thing about moving to San Francisco is that it's the home city of her literary idol: Garrison Griswold, book publisher and creator of the online sensation Book Scavenger (a game where books are hidden in cities all over the country and clues to find them are revealed through puzzles). Upon her arrival, however, Emily learns that Griswold has been attacked and is now in a coma, and no one knows anything about the epic new game he had been poised to launch. Then Emily and her new friend James discover an odd book, which they come to believe is from Griswold himself, and might contain the only copy of his mysterious new game.

Racing against time, Emily and James rush from clue to clue, desperate to figure out the secret at the heart of Griswold's new game―before those who attacked Griswold come after them too.

I really loved Book Scavenger a website where you crack ciphers, hide books, and find them HOW FUN!!!! Until the creator if the game gets mugged in a BART station and everyone is worried book scavenger will die with him.......and the Emily finds Grisworlds next game The Gold-Bug. But the muggers also want the Gold-Bug leaving you to wonder what does The Gold-Bug lead to?

This book is about an author who was walking to an appointment when 2 gentlemen got into his way. They asked him for the book he was working on. The author said they needed to be more specific. One of the men said that he is old and he doesn't hear right. The author got his walking stick and used it to hit him in the cheek. Right then one of the men shot the author and stole his book. The author got help though, but the thieves got away with it! Now they have to get the book back someway, but in the mean time it's going to be about Emily, a girl whose family is having an adventure of trying to live in every state of the U.S. They are moving to California. Emily once loved it, to experience new places. Then they were in traffic. When they finally arrived, they started claiming rooms of the new place they would live in. Later, they start talking about the author, who's name is Garrison Grisworld. When Emily heard that James met him, she was so surprised because she wanted to meet him real bad. Then James mentioned he didn't show up somewhere when he was suppose to. Then Emily got all worried, but then James told her that they just found out that he didn't disappear, he was in the hospital. Will Emily help Garrison Grisworld find the thieves that stole his book?

Emily and her family have been moving across the United States for most of her life. Her parents have the goal of living in all 50 states, and so they rarely live in one place for more than a few months. Now Emily, her brother Matthew and their parents are moving to San Francisco where Emily's "literary idol", Garrison Griswold (also known as the Willy Wonka of the literary world), lives. Griswold, among other endeavours, created the Book Scavenger (an game where people find books hidden in cities by using clues and puzzles. Unfortunately, just weeks before Garrison plans on launching a new game, he is attacked and hospitalized with a coma. Then Emily (and her new friend James) find an interesting book, which Emily is sure is part of Griswold's new game. But it turns out that solving this mystery is more dangerous than they thought. I really enjoyed this book. There was mystery and intrigue, and it was a true book adventure. I enjoyed watching Emily and James' friendship develop, especially since having a friend was really a new experience for Emily. I would recommend this book to middle school aged kids and above, especially mystery lovers. I think that people who enjoyed "Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library" would enjoy this book as well. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Book Scavenger is a great book about Emily, a girl who just moved to San Francisco. She become friends with a boy named James, who shares the love of puzzles. When Emily’s idol Garrison Griswold (creator of book scavenger) is shot, Emily and James have to race to find his new game before some others do. This is a great book with puzzles and adventure, and I recommend the whole series.

This was an amazing book. I won it on the book giveaway. Emily's parents have a goal to live in all the fifty states so they move a lot. When they move to San Francisco Emily is kinda excited because that is where her hero Garrison Griswold has his publishing company. Then Mr. Griswold gets shot and Emily finds a book that she thinks is part of Mr. Griswolds new game. Emily and her new friend James will have to solve the puzzle soon because Mr. Griswold might die. This was an amazing book I totally recommend it.

I read this book over 3 times last summer and it was great. That summer particularly, this book spoke to me, and I loved every part of it.

I got through half of the book. It is about this girl named Emily and her adventures with Book Scavenger. The person who runs this program is about to release this new game, but something happens.

Amazing this has introduced me to another piece of literature and that why i like it and recommend it so much because of the impact it leaves.

This book was in our Battle of the books list at my school. The key to our success of winning the whole battle was by everyone in our group reading at least 10 of the books on the list. I read this one and it gave me an Escape From Mr.Lemoncello's Library feeling. It's about a girl that's moving to San Francisco, which is where the creator of a game including books and the girls idol lives. There's just one problem, he's been shot. In the same place where he's been shot the girl finds a new book that hasn't been shown to the public yet. Her and her friend together try to solve the secret of the book that's been hidden in it. This was a really good book, and I would recommend it to any person out there that's into mystery books.

This is a cool book, that follows a boy and a girl. It is action-packed, and based off a real-life program. A man named Garrison Griswald is attacked. He happens to be Emily's idol, and she decides to investigate. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat.
